Junior Achievement

Description
Kate Edwards volunteered to teach a group of third graders from St. Martin of Tours about city planning and architecture with the Junior Achievement program. She spent six weeks focusing on the topic of “Our City” by showing the students a few of the professions involved in planning a city’s growth and development. Students learned why education is important to maintain the commerce of the city. Topics such as city zoning, economic development and local businesses were covered. The final class activity was to visit our office and see how each employee of a business contributes to its success. The students also designed a city using all the skills introduced during the series.
