Mary McLeod Bethune Academy Wins Award

Description
PACE Architects was awarded the North American 2007 "Impact on Learning Award" from the School Planning & Management magazine and the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI). The Awards Luncheon took place during CEFPI's 84th Annual International Conference in Toronto.
“The success of Mary McLeod Bethune Academy is a wonderful example of how a building can impact the learning environment not just for today’s students, but for generations to come. The housing redevelopment initiative has increased home ownership within the area and enhanced the cohesiveness of the surrounding community. At the same time, the building’s role as a community center has increased parents’ and citizens’ understanding and interest in the learning process. Parents are now more involved in their child’s education, more connected with the school community and have greater pride in their neighborhood.”
