St Francis Children's Center

Project Description

The major goal of this multi-phased project was to update the existing interior with respect to the building’s original architecture. The idea was to use architectural finishes, colors, and lighting to create spaces that enhance and support learning with care-giving.

Classroom renovations include the addition of much needed organizational and storage space. The selection of primary colors not only brightens and activates each space, but gives the opportunity for children to identify their room by color scheme.

The waiting and reception areas incorporate a new reception desk that improves both visibility and functionality. The furniture selection has bold colors and movement in its design of strong curves and waves, and is comfortable for adults and inviting for children.

The overall experience has been exciting, not only for the Owners and PACE, but also for the teachers; and more importantly, the children, whose faces often light up when seeing their new spaces.
